FAQs
What is Paint Protection Film?
Here at The Lab we use XPEL Ultimate Plus Paint Protection Film [PPF], a virtually invisible layer of film that protects your vehicle’s paint from everyday damages such as scuffs, scratches, chips and other potential damages while also enhancing gloss and depth of OEM paint.
Why XPEL Ultimate PPF?
XPEL is among the most advanced films on the market offering a 10 year warranty and is built to last, ensuring your vehicle looks its best for years to come. Carefully selected and vetted by our team here.
Unlike some common films, XPEL incorporates stain resistant materials to fight against road grime, bird droppings, bugs and more. Repaints are rarely done to OEM quality, they often don’t have the same durability as OEM paint, and take time to properly cure.
Do I need a paint correction before installation?
Paint correction is always recommended prior to any sort of protective service. Even new vehicles are often exposed to thousands of miles of transport, environmental elements for months, and improper wash by dealerships prior to delivery. It is EXTREMELY rare for us to find a flawless new vehicle.
With that being said, every service is tailored to your specific needs so there are always exceptions.
How long does the install take?
Installs typically range from 1 – 10 days.
Does the film turn yellow after time?
While this was common years ago, paint protection films technology has evolved greatly to a point where this is no longer a concern with HIGH-QUALITY materials. In fact, the manufacturers place such confidence in this that they provide a 10 Year warranty against such a thing.
